Anime Vanguards Renguko Guide
The Exclusive unit, Renguko was added in Update 0.5 and takes his inspiration from the Flame Hashira of Demon Slayer, Rengoku. Before you obtain Renguko, you’ll need to first unlock Raids by completing each Act under the Story Mode maps Planet Namak, Sand Village and Double Dungeon.
Once you’ve unlocked Raids, you’ll need to progress to the Spider Forest Act 4, where Renguko has a 1% drop chance on completion. Thankfully, the new currency Red Webs obtained from Raids allows you to purchase a nifty item to increase your odds. In the Raid Shop for 400 Red Webs is the Fortune Catalyst (Slayer) item, this Mythical piece of equipment increases the drop chance for Exclusive units when in use.
When obtained, Renguko takes the throne for the current Burn DPS Meta in Anime Vanguards. What this means is that once he has been placed on a field, he will apply the Burn status effect to enemy mobs which deals consecutive damage over a few ticks on top of his standard attacks.
Renguko comes pre-loaded with one ability, which is the following:
- Flame Breathing – Attacks inflict the Burn status effect, dealing up to 30% of the total DMG.
Renguko Evolution
Like the other high-rarity units, Renguko enjoys an evolution, becoming the Renguko (Purgatory) unit. On obtainment, the player gains a cosmetic to wear that matches the new appearance of Renguko (Purgatory), looking a tad beaten up and bloody.
Alongside the Flame Breathing ability, Renguko (Purgatory) gains a secondary ability that is Unwavering Focus. This ability Increases DMG by 5% for consecutive attacks on the same enemy up to 20% (4 attacks). Finally, the Purgatory Unleashed ability which applies Burn DMG equal to 60%, where hit enemies receive the Purgatory Flame and receive +40% Burn DMG over a few ticks.
To evolve Renguko to Renguko (Purgatory), you’ll need the following:
- Slayers Cape – x1 (Costs 600 Red Webs from Raid Shop)
- Green Essence Stone – x40
- Yellow Essence Stone – x14
- Pink Essence Stone – x13
- Red Essence Stone – x14
- Rainbow Essence Stone – x4
- Gold – x15,000
