Now we talk a lot about stuff a the top end of Grow A Garden, but as the game continues to be super popular, there are new gardeners starting their journeys every day. So we thought we’d throw them a bone. (Is that foreshadowing?) We’re covering the best beginner pet in Grow A Garden, so all of you still yet to experience your first billion can get there faster.

Grow A Garden is free to play on Roblox. If you’re interested in going more in-depth on all the pets, take a look at our Grow A Garden pet abilities guide.

Best Beginner Pet In Grow A Garden

So first, let’s go into our criteria here.

  • We’re taking pets from the Common Egg or Uncommon Egg, the easiest and cheapest pet eggs available.
  • They must be good even if they’re the only pet you have, because this is for people who are just starting out, and might not have the cash to synergize.

Best Pet – Dog/Golden Lab

These guys are a great choice for early game players, and incredibly easy to get hold of.

What do they do? Dogs and Golden Labs roam around your garden, and occasionally dig up new crop seeds. This means you pretty much get a plant for free, every so often. This might become less useful when you’re more experienced and trying to optimize for space, but when you’re just trying to fill up your garden, the extra seeds can make a big difference.

Honorable Mention – Cat

This pet comes from the slightly more expensive Uncommon Egg, so the Dog edges them out a bit, however, they’re still worth some praise. The Cat is just a straight-up crop enhancer with no costs and no limits on what kind they can boost.

A cat will roam around your garden, and take naps from time to time. While the cat is napping in an area, their happy purrs will increase the size and growth speed of your crops, which means more money for you. They’re all-around great to have, and don’t require any big-brained strats to make the most of them. (Though there is something called the Cat Method, which people rave about.)
