Dead Rails Cannon Guide
Right, let’s talk about what the cannon does first, then explain what you need to do to get one.
About The Cannon
The cannon is the second turret-style gun to appear in Dead Rails. Unlike the classic turret/maxim gun, the cannon trades out rate of tire for sheer level of force, and hits with slow but devastating shots. You use it much like the turret. That is, it must be welded to the trail, with a box of its ammo, cannon balls, welded next to it. Someone must man the cannon and fire it, with only one player able to do this at a time.
How To Get A Cannon
Currently, there’s only one place you can acquire the cannon. Fort Constitution is a special structure that occasionally spawns in the desert. It resembles a wood stockade with buildings inside, and two cannons mounted on watchtowers. (These aren’t the ones you’re looking for, though.)
To get a cannon, you need to defeat the large numbers of zombified soldiers inside the fort, and take out the boss, Captain Prescott. After that, you should be able to acquire a gold key. Use this on the door of the building marked ‘Supply Depot’ to open it up. Assuming all goes well, you should find a cannon and some cannonballs inside. Have fun and use responsibly!
