Battle

Before a battle begins, you are faced with a placement screen. This is where you can select certain Souls to be on your team, and where exactly you want to place them. There’s even a handy “auto-place” function if you aren’t sure who to use!

Formations are pretty important when assembling your team in the placement screen. At the moment, there are 4 formations to choose from:

  • Basic
  • Defense
  • Ranged
  • Assault

The formation you select will alter your stats and combat – so choose wisely!

If you want to pause a combat sequence, or speed it up, you can tap the pause button at the top right of your screen, or the fast forward button to quickly blast through battles.

The overall combat is practically idle for the majority of the time, until the Soul portraits light up. This signals an “Active Skill” that you can use. As the battle progresses, your Ultimate Gauge will fill up. Once this gauge reaches 100%, you can use an Ultimate Skill by tapping on the Soul’s skill icon. This skill is a highly powerful one, and you’ll be treated to a short animation sequence from the Soul that performs the move.

Souls

The characters that you collect in Eversoul are called Souls. You can obtain a variety of Souls by performing summons. Each Soul has unique stats and abilities!

Soul Upgrades

Upgrading your Souls is a pretty important step in the game. By upgrading your Souls, you’re making them stronger, thus making battles that much easier! Open up the Souls menu, and select the Soul you wish to upgrade.

Once you’ve selected a Soul, you can tap on “Level Up” to increase their level – keep in mind that this uses up resources, such as the in-game money and Mana Dust.

You can also make your Souls more powerful by equipping special “keepsakes” to them. Think of these as useful items that boost the overall stats of the character! You can level up these keepsakes, furthering the progress of the Soul. If you’re not too sure about which keepsake to add to a specific Soul, you can tap the “Auto-Equip” button to let the game do it for you! This feature will add the best keepsakes for that character with just the tap of a button.

Soul Types

Each Soul is split into their own category. These categories are:

  • Humanlike
  • Beast
  • Fairy
  • Undead
  • Angel
  • Demon

Keep in mind that the type of character you place into your team will determine their damage towards the enemy. For instance, certain Soul types are weaker to others. Let’s take a look at some examples:

  • Beast deals more damage to Fairy
  • Angel and Demon both deal higher damage to each other
  • Fairy deals more damage to Undead
  • Undead deals more damage to Humanlike
  • Humanlike deals more damage to Beast

The Ark

Think of The Ark as the central hub for upgrades. This screen is where you can ascend and dismantle Souls. You can also reset Soul Levels here too! The Ark also grants you access to the Level Sync feature, which allows you to boost the overall growth of your Souls. By releasing Souls, and dismantling artefacts, you will receive useful growth materials.

Dungeons

Another part of the core gameplay of Eversoul, are the dungeons. Move your character around by dragging your finger on the left side of the screen. Each dungeon has a set objective, and you can use the mini map to check where you need to go. As you move through the dungeon, you’ll come across enemies. Simply walk into them to start a battle!

The usual formation screen and combat gameplay follows after you run into an enemy. An important thing to note is that the type of character you place into your team will affect your overall team buff. For instance, three humanlike Souls in one team will grant a certain team buff!

The Archive

Accidentally skipped through that one important cutscene? Not to worry, you can head to the Archive to rewatch it! In the Archive, you can watch main story cutscenes, love story cutscenes, and event stories. Keep in mind that you can only rewatch these cutscenes if you’ve already played through them! It’s a handy little feature for those of you who like to revisit old parts of a game, or catch up on forgotten content.

Cash Shop

As with every gacha game, Eversoul has a cash shop. Similar to other gacha titles, the cash shop provides you with free daily rewards when you visit the Regular Pack tab. You can also obtain a free weekly reward, as well as a free monthly reward.

The cash shop allows you to purchase Everstones, a monthly subscription service, growth packs, and limited-time packs. There are two monthly subscription services called “Sharinne Pack” and “Manon Pack”.
