Fisch Rod Progression Guide – Which Rod Should You Use? (Updated!)

Feature image for our Fisch Rod Progression guide. Image shows a character holding a fishing rod near some large mushrooms.

The rod you use makes a huge difference in progress, but with so many available, it can be tough to know which is best. My Fisch rod progression guide breaks down progression into early, mid, late, and end game.

Start playing Fisch on Roblox. Wondering which rods are the best? Our Roblox Fisch Rod Tier List ranks each. We also have a Fisch Rods Guide that goes into detail on each.

Fisch Rod Progression Guide

Before we get into it, there are a lot of rods available. No rod is perfect, so it all depends on what you want the most out of gameplay. I’ve taken price, stats, and passives into consideration when deciding for each stage, but it’s okay if you disagree!

Early Game

If you’re a beginner, you start with the Flimsy Rod. This isn’t a great option. It can only hold 10.4kg, and all the other stats are at 0%. Many players then move onto the Training Rod, but I’d recommend you skip that!

Instead, head to Mushgrove Swamp and speak to Agaric. He will ask you to catch an Alligator, and when you do, he’ll give you the Fungal Rod. This is one of my all-time favourites due to the passive ability it has. Each time you fish, there is a 60% chance to get an additional luck boost for 45 seconds. Let’s look at the other stats:

  • Lure Speed: -10%
  • Luck: 45%
  • Control: 0
  • Resilience: 0%
  • Max kg: 200kg

Once you save up, head to the Northern Summit for the Arctic Rod! This costs 25,000, so it may take some saving. With this rod, fish will get the Frozen mutation, which increases value by x1.3. Now, onto the stats.

  • Lure Speed: 25%
  • Luck: 45%
  • Control: 0.06
  • Resilience: 15%
  • Max kg: 7,500kg

Mid Game

Now onto the mid-game. My recommendation is the Trident Rod, which you can get from Trident’s Temple for 150,000.

  • Lure Speed: 25%
  • Luck: 150%
  • Control: 0.05
  • Resilience: 0
  • Max kg: 6,000kg

With its passives, you have a 30% chance to catch a fish with the Atlantean mutation, which increases the value by x3.

Another great option is the Sunken Rod. Although it’s best suited for fishing up Treasure Maps (it has a 25% chance to reel one in every 10 catches), it also has a 10% chance to catch a fish with a Sunken Mutation. These sell for 8.25x the regular price. Alongside that, it gives you a huge luck boost! You can obtain this rod by opening Treasure Chests. Let’s take a look at the stats:

  • Lure Speed: 30%
  • Luck: 150%
  • Control: 0.15
  • Resilience: 15%
  • Max kg: 5,000kg

Late Game

First up is the Rod of The Depths. This costs a rather expensive 750,000C$ from inside of The Depths. This rod has a passive ability. For every 3 successful catches, you will obtain an extra fish. Let’s check out the stats:

  • Lure Speed: 65%
  • Luck: 130%
  • Control: 0.15
  • Resilience: 10%
  • Max kg: 30,000kg

The Kraken Rod is another great option. This costs 1,333,333C$ from Atlantis. With the passive ability, there is a 10% chance to double any fish caught, and a 5% chance to apply the Tentacle Surge Mutation. This increases the value of a creature by x10. Also, after 50 catches, you are guaranteed to get either a legendary, mythical, or exotic fish from any location. Here are the stats:

  • Lure Speed: 60%
  • Luck: 185%
  • Control: 0.2
  • Resilience: 15%
  • Max kg: 11,5000 kg

End Game

If late game wasn’t enough, how about end game? The Chysalis Rod makes for a solid option, which you can get by completing a set of quests from the Underground Music Venue. It has multiple passives:

  • +10% progress speed
  • 90% chance for the Bloom mutation (value increases by x5)
  • 10% chance for the Flora mutation (value increases by x10)
  • 20% chance for an eye to spawn and catch an additional fish with Flora. An extra 20% chance for it to be shiny, sparkling, or both.

Let’s check out the stats.

  • Lure Speed: 100%
  • Luck: 150%
  • Control: 0
  • Resilience: 100%
  • Max kg: Infinite

Last up is the Wingripper. This is also available by completing quests in the Underground Music Venue. First, the stats.

  • Lure Speed: 222%
  • Luck: 222%
  • Control: 0.22
  • Resilience: 22%
  • Max kg: Infinite

Now the passives! Have you ever seen a rod have so many?

  • +22% Progress Speed in the day
  • +222% Progress Speed at night
  • 0.22 Control in the day
  • -0.2 Control at night
  • 30% chance for the Dirunal mutation, which increases value by 13.5x
  • 10% chance for the Nocturnal mutation, which increases value by 16.2x
