Grow a Garden Gears Guide – What Are Gears?

Like seeds, Gears have stock allowances and rarities, adding different values to your farming plot. They aren’t everlasting and can be quite expensive for an early-game player, so knowing which to invest in helps your farm-life progression.
Visit the Gears Shop by walking to the green and white striped market stall, opposite the Seed Shop NPC on the map.
Every 5 minutes, Eloise, the Gear Merchant NPC, rotates her stock. So, if you miss out on a Gear, you fortunately don’t have long to wait before she replenishes.
All Available Gear
The idea of Gear is to speed up seed development and increase its selling value through mutations and size. Let’s get into each Gear type!
- Watering Can
- Cost: 50,000 S$
- Rarity: Rare
- Uses: Speeds up plant growth by a small amount.
- Duration: 10 uses.
- Trowel
- Cost: 100,000$
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Uses: Allows you to unearth and move your produce without destroying the plant.
- Duration: 5 moves.
- Recall Wrench
- Cost: 150,000$
- Rarity: Uncommon
- Uses: Teleports the player to the Gear shop immediately
- Duration: 5 uses.
- Basic Sprinkler
- Cost: 20,000 S$
- Rarity: Rare
- Uses: Increases fruit and vegetable sizes when harvested.
- Duration: 5 minutes.
- Advanced Sprinkler
- Cost: 45,000 S$
- Rarity: Legendary
- Uses: Increases the chance of unearthing a mutated fruit or vegetable.
- Duration: 5 minutes.
- Godly Sprinkler
- Cost: 100,000 S$
- Rarity: Mythical
- Uses: Increases both the size of the harvest significantly and the chance of uncovering fruit and vegetable mutations.
- Duration: 5 minutes.
- Lightning Rod
- Cost: 1,000,000$
- Rarity: Mythical
- Uses: Redirects lightning 3 times before being destroyed, making nearby crops more likely to pick up the shocked mutation during a storm.
- Duration: 3 hits.
- Master Sprinkler
- Cost: 10,000,000 S$
- Rarity: Divine
- Uses: An upgraded version of the Godly Sprinkler, lasting 10 minutes instead of 5.
- Friendship Pot
- Cost: 15,000,000 S$
- Rarity: Divine
- Uses: Share a plant with a friend!
- Favourite Tool
- Cost: 20,000,000$
- Rarity: Divine
- Uses: Favuoirtes planted fruit to prevent collecting
- Duration: 20 uses
- Harvest Tool
- Cost: 30,000,000$
- Rarity: Divine
- Uses: Harvest all fruit from a chosen plant at once.
- Duration: 5 uses
Event Gears
- Chocolate Sprinkler
- Cost: 500,000 S$
- Rarity: Mythical
- Uses: Covers nearby produce in Chocolate for 1 minute. This one-time-use Gear only applies the mutation to fully grown crops.
- Night Staff
- Cost: Obtained through the Lunar Glow Event reward scheme
- Rarity: N/A
- Uses: During a Lunar Glow event, it will mutate nearby plants 6 times with the Moonlit Mutation.
Which Should You Buy?
Naturally, the more expensive a gear is, the better its outcome. With that, the Godly Sprinkle will yield the most fruitful (pardon the pun) stock to sell. Not only does it increase harvest size, which already looks impressive and sells for a lot, but there’s a greater chance of uncovering expensive mutations such as rainbow and golden!
