Don’t worry, holding shocked produce won’t harm you. In this Grow a Garden Shocked Mutation guide, I tell you how to uncover this valuable mutation and why it’s necessary for your progression.

Grow a Garden Shocked Mutation

Despite the name, shocked plants don’t look disturbed.

The Shocked mutation happens by chance during a thunderstorm. This infrequent weather event darkens the sky to grey, and snapping lightning strikes randomly around the map. If you’re fortunate, your produce will be struck and they’ll adopt the Shocked Mutation (x100 value).

During a storm, your crops grow 50% quicker and may also take on the Wet mutation. So, even if you’re not lucky enough to uncover Shocked fruits, they’ll at least be drippy. Maybe.

Lightning Rod Gear

If you invest in the 1,000,000$ Lightning Rod Gear, you can redirect lightning for 3 uses before it’s destroyed during a storm to strike your produce and force them to become Shocked. This is great for creating high-value produce to make back your money and profit.

Since the Lightning Rod is Mythical in rarity, I recommend buying it in advance of a storm since there’s no guarantee it’ll be restocked when you need it most. This is true for most high rarity gears and seeds…

Angry Plant Quest

You also need Shocked produce to complete the Angry Plant quest. Which is easier said than done. I recommend trying to get your hands on the Lightning Rod Gear from the previous heading so that you can control where the lightning strikes and force the relevant crops to adopt the mutation during a storm.
