How To Escape In Coraline Escape The Others
Let’s escape!
Unlock The Stairway
The first thing you need to do to escape is find the 3 keys scattered around. Luckily, they aren’t too hard to find. Once you find them all, follow the marker on your screen that says ‘Stairs’ and interact with the door. The door will open, and you can head upstairs to start the second part of the game.
The first key is on the table in the room you spawn in. The second is in the room with the orange sofa, and the third is in the room with the grey fireplace.
Collect Ghost Eyes
If you’ve seen the Coraline movie, you’ll know about the ghost eyes of the children! Scattered around on the second floor are 3 ghost eyes you must find. If you enter the room with purple lighting and the (somewhat creepy) insect furniture, you can find the Looking Stone. When using this, markers will appear on your screen pointing you in the direction of each eye.
If you don’t have the Looking Stone, don’t worry! You can find the first eye in the room with the yellow walls. The one second is in the room next to the room with the insect furniture. Finally, the third is in the room that has floral purple walls.
After you have all three eyes, head to the room with the mirrors. Interact with each (one for each eye) to enter the next stage of the game.
Find Beldam And Escape
Beldam is the ‘other mother’. If you haven’t come across her already, lucky you… she’s pretty scary! However, you now have to go looking for her as the next part requires you to throw 3 cats at her. You can find cats walking around or inside rooms, and you can interact with them to pick them up.
Your job is to launch the cat at Beldam, which you need to do 3 times. Once this is complete, she will drop the Button Key.
Take the Button Key and follow the ‘Door’ marker on your screen to take you to the Mysterious Door. It’s highlighted in green, so it’s easy to spot! Press ‘E’ to escape… and that’s it! The game ends there and you will get an overview of your gameplay.
Useful Tips
If you’re anything like me, you hate things chasing after you. Be prepared to come across both the Other Mother and Father who are out to get you. Here are some useful tips and tricks you can use to help you escape safely.
- Items
- Make use of the items you find scattered around! They’re all there to help you and offer different things.
- Candle – Helps you see, scares rats, but attracts the Other Father.
- Snow Globe – Heals 25% of your health.
- Flashlight – Lights up the area around you.
- Looking Stone – Shows the location of Ghost Eyes and enemies.
- Buttons
- If you’ve played before and collected buttons, you can purchase items in the pre-run shop beforehand to help.
- Hiding
- You will find boxes in some of the hallways that allow you to hide from the Mother and Father.
