How essential are the essences? This Type Soul Essences Guide tells you what an Essence is, how to get it and which belongs to each faction.

Type Soul Essences Guide
Essences are divided by factions, with only a handful available to each race. All Essences drop from Clan Wars and 2v2 Ranked matches. The only exception to this is the Speed and Kendo Essences, obtained via Bong Bong (The Exchange NPC).
Each Essence requires at least 40 within its respective Skill Tree to apply the Essence. Thankfully, they don’t drop upon death so if you need to grind to reach that stat then you needn’t worry about rushing. However, Essences will be removed upon popping a Blue Pill.
All Faction Essences
The following Essences are available for all races to use with no restrictions.
- Black Flash – Technically not an Essense as this move is an Ultra Skill. Must be at U rank with your Soul Style metre to use. Enjoys no cooldown.
- Horizon Core – Enhanced with True Pierce
- Unseen Blade – Enhanced with Vizard. Still beneficial to all races, however.
- Crazed Blitz – Bypasses blocks, parry, dodge, counters and unseen blade
- Territorial Mark – Marks an opponent so only you can strike them and them you. Ideal for group fights.
Arrancar Essences
up first, Arrancar (the superior race). Only obtained and used by Arrancar players.
- Bala Fireworks – 360 AoE of fireworks dealing impact damage which enhances the closer to the target you are
- Fusion Essence (Arrancar Medic) – Partial Essence
Quincy Essences
Next, Quincies! Only obtained and used by Quincy players.
- Shattered Comet – An arrow of Reiatsu crashes into the ground and shatters into a barrage of shards which explode on contact
Soul Reaper Essences
And lastly, Soul Reapers. Only obtained and used by Soul Reaper players.
- Gran Raikoho – Close-range Reiatsu blast
- Teppusatsu – Pre-aim at the floor with a target and strike with a beam of pure Reiatsu
