About Crafted Rods
Crafted Rods are fishing rods constructed via the crafting station in the Ancient Archives. You unlock this via acquiring four different fragments around the Ancient Isles and teaming up with 3 other players to open the Archives. We go over this in more detail in the guide.
With crafting unlocked, you have a wide range of new options as far as rods you can get, but these come at a steep cost. All require fairly rare or expensive items to make, and so getting a single rod is pretty time consuming. It’s better to prioritize and skip the rods that aren’t really worth the time investment.
What’s The Best Crafted Rod?
In our opinion, the Rod Of The Forgotten Fang takes the top spot. It has very good stats at the following.
- Lure Speed: 78
- Luck: 145
- Control: 0.22
- Resilience: 25
- Max Weight Of Fish: None
The rod also comes with a special ability that grants you an automatic weight-boosted high-tier fish for every three perfect catches you make. These catches don’t have to be in a row, either. We’ll never complain about getting free fish. Plus the high control stat makes it pretty easy to land perfect catches.
Is It Worth It?
The Rod Of The Forgotten Fang is a big investment, and does require that you snag four Mythical catches, plus the Lunar Thread, so it’s going to be a grind. We would argue though that the Rod Of The Forgotten Fang requires a bit less planning to get hold of, when it doesn’t require you to snag meteor gems or try and sift through the Roslit clams for a Golden Pearl. It’s pretty much straight grinding until you get lucky, which if you’re a Fisch player, you’re already doing anyway.
