The Merchant siblings set up shop across numerous islands around Fisch allowing you to sell your catches and buy helpful equipment such as crab cages, rods and diving suits. Which Merchant Brother Is Blind In Fisch?
When waiting on the loading screen to enter the main game, Fisch has a roster of tips and trivia down at the bottom. Included here is a fun fact: “One of the Merchant Brothers are blind. I won’t tell you which one though.” This leaves curious players (myself included) wondering which it is despite knowing there’s no reward for figuring it out.
Working backwards, I’m ruling out the Merchants of the Desolate Deep, Forsaken Shores and The Depths since the title screen trivia existed way before these areas. That leaves the brothers who reside at Moosewood, Snowcap Island, Sunstone Island or Roslit Bay.
What makes figuring out the blind brother so hard is that their parental genetics means they all have the same smug-smiled expression. Blindness is an invisible disability, and without a facial scar telling tales of a frightful ocean encounter it’s hard to wean down between our contenders.
Even more elusive is that they all stick to a script, similar to your average retail superstore. Their shared dialogue is simple, asking the player “Hello! How can I help you?” followed by selling options. Pressing “Who are you?” will trigger the NPC to tell you their name and share that they’re part of an extended family of merchants across the seas. Again, no hints or differences between siblings…
So, Which Brother Is Blind?
Unfortunately, I don’t know. Since there’s no reward for figuring it out, no one has any idea! The DEVs keep this secret more tight-lipped than future update leaks. The most we can do is rule out Merchants who set up shop after the trivia in the title screen. But, if you have theories, feel free to leave them in the comments and get a discussion going!
