Activision developing Call of Duty Elite application for Android Tablets

The Call of Duty Elite application for Android has been out for a short while now but it has never been optimized for tablets. That is about to change soon as Activision is developing a tablet version of the Elite app which is great news for anyone who has wanted a better version of the app on their Android tablet.

This won’t just be a re-scaling of the current Call of Duty Elite application either but instead will be a complete new native app for Android tablets. We can guess that this also means Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich users will be treated to interface elements specifically designed for those to OS versions.

For those of you who are not familiar with the Call of Duty Elite companion app, it is an extension of the Elite paid service which players can use to track a plethora of stats including cross-platform and lifetime statistics, check out tournaments, and even let you change up your loads outs while on the go, pushing them to the game so when you log-in once you are home, you can just jump right into a match without fiddling with your gear for 20 minutes.

Currently the Android phone version of the app has had a few problems, mostly on the technical side of things, so hopefully Activision will iron those out with this new version for tablets. No release date has been announced just yet.
