EA has confirmed in a blog post that the mobile version of Apex Legends is called – drum roll – Apex Legends Mobile.
What’s more, it’s getting a regional beta this month in India and the Philippines, involving a few thousand players. More regions and players will be added over the course of 2021.
In terms of the game itself, EA promises a title that’s designed specifically for touchscreens, “with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone.”
But EA would say that.
The PC and console version of Apex Legends is a critical and commercial hit, with reviewers generally regarding it as one of the best examples of the battle royale genre thanks to its innovative Legends system.
Impressions are bound to trickle out over the next few weeks. More news as we get it.
