Become A Monster Hunter In An 8-Bit World In Beast Slayer

No, we’ve not started covering NES titles. We might’ve missed the boat on those a tiny bit. This is indeed a mobile game released right now in 2023. Beast Slayer is a nostalgic throwback to the days of Final Fantasy I and Dragon Warrior, all set up for your Android phone.

A-Hunting We Will Go

In Beast Slayer you are a master hunter who sets out to take down the most rare and mythical monsters the wide-open world has to offer. That is no easy task. Obviously, you have to contend with the kind of bests that can reduce whole towns to ash, but there are other dangers too.

You face the constant danger of hazardous terrain as you explore the many different biomes where these titans roam.

In addition, you aren’t the only beast hunter on the block. Other rivals might try to steal your quarry right from under your nose.

No one said monster hunting was easy.

Nostalgia Everywhere!

Set out into a world that looks like it came straight from an NES cartridge. That’s no insult, Beast Slayer does this purely by design. The game uses a charming 8-bit tileset and chiptune soundtrack.

While it’s clearly a love letter to RPGs of yesteryear, Beast Slayer sets out to bring a few modern twists to the classic world. You can build a home, cook your own meals, and maybe even find love with the man or woman of your dreams. (No restrictions on your spouse’s gender, either.)

Another aspect of the game that might attract those sick of live service titles, the game has zero in-app purchases. No IAPs, no ads, no need to buy extras. Pay once and receive everything the game has to offer.

Sound like your sort of thing? That game is available now on Google Play.
