Board Game fans will be getting the award-winning Suburbia in the near future

If you’re a board game fan then you’ll be happy to know that there is another great game heading our way in the near future. One thing we can say is that smartphones and tablets have some pretty great board games already available to play and now we will be able to add Suburbia to that list soon.

For those of you unfamiliar with Suburbia, this board game has players building up a small town into a massive thriving city. It’s a strange concept to actually see as a physical board game since this sort of theme is usually seen on digital formats like the PC. It isn’t about who has the most profitable city either. It’s all about population and players will have to balance the type of buildings (residential, commercial, tourist spots, entertainment, industrial etc etc).

The board itself is a hexagon board, meaning that all the spots on it are hexagon in shape. Using the sides of each spot, players will need to try and build up their city, along with a strong economic structure that can support your city’s growth. While players are trying to build up their city, eventually buying and building better structures and increasing income and reputation, you will be competing against each other as well to achieve goals in the game while trying to have the biggest population. Achieving a goal will offer that player a boost in population.

If this is an exact port of the actual Suburbia board game, each time you play it will be different as each time there are different buildings available. As for when Suburbia will land on Android, there are no exact dates announced yet. The game will be officially unveiled for iOS and Android at the upcoming GenCom this August. iOS will be getting it first with the Android version following shortly after.
