Borderlands Online will be coming to mobile… in China at least

Great news for all the Borderlands franchise fans out there! The newly announced Borderlands Online for PC will also be coming to mobile! However the bad news is that the release of this game for PC and mobile has been announced for China only right now.

Chinese game publisher Shanda Games is responsible for bringing this game to life but they are not doing it alone. Gearbox and 2K Games are working with them to ensure that everything will be up to Borderlands quality. They (Gearbox) are going so far as to actually set up a team specifically for the development of Borderlands Online.

This game will have four playable classes to choose from, all of which are similar to what is found in the Borderlands games. For what they look like in the promotional image, the classes are Soldier, Hunter, Siren, and something that looks like a Berserker. Other than that, there is very little in the way of details regarding this game that have been released. It could be a Team Fortress 2 type of game.

According to Shanda Games, Borderlands Online will be released at some point next year. There is no word of a Western/Worldwide release right now. We will post an update once more details are released. For now we get to dream.
