In the world of indie developers, each company usually has a pretty unique story behind it and the people working for them. Butterscotch Shenanigans, however, have a number of stories as the three main founders all have their own story, some of which is pretty inspiring like Sam beating cancer. Even the stories behind the games they developer are interesting, and Crashlands being their most ambitious project will most than likely have a great one as well.
Update: April 21st, 2016 11:09am PST: Just to clarify, Butterscotch Shenanigans are not making the documentary themselves. It’s being made by a company called Forever an Astronaut. So it is not much of a surprise to hear that Butterscotch Shenanigans will be getting their own documentary about the development of Crashlands called Brace For Impact: The Crashlands Story. The documentary follows the “St. Louis-based Butterscotch Shenanigans as they develop Crashlands and will cover the development cycle that went into Crashlands, as well as the circumstances that led to its creation“.
It should be pretty interesting to watch, especially if you’re into these types of video game related films. Right now Forever an Astronaut are holding a Kickstarter campaign to help finish the film with additional funding, and also allows for people interested in this film the chance to pre-order their own physical copy of it when its released.
