In the world of indie developers, each company usually has a pretty unique story behind it and the people working for them. Butterscotch Shenanigans, however, have a number of stories as the three main founders all have their own story, some of which is pretty inspiring like Sam beating cancer. Even the stories behind the games they developer are interesting, and Crashlands being their most ambitious project will most than likely have a great one as well.
Butterscotch Shenanigans has announced the official release date for their highly anticipated Crashlands game for mobile platforms. This game, which has been in the works for over 2 years now, will finally be getting released next month. That means there is still a bit of a wait left, but at least there is a definitive end to it.
Back in June of this year we reported on our friends over at Butterscotch Shenanigans and their upcoming Crashlands mobile game, which looks like it will be a hell of a lot of fun. This game has been in developer for about 2 years now, and is a mix of different genres, mainly Survival and Action-RPG, all of which is set in a Sci-Fi themed universe.
The venerable survival genre is nearly as old as gaming itself, dating back at least to Oregon Trail and survival modes in tower defense games. For a substantial period of time, Japanese survival horror games nearly became synonymous with the entirety of the genre. These days, fleeing from monsters still dominates the genre thanks to games such as Left 4 Dead, Day Z and Slender Man.
Butterscotch Shenanigans likes to lace their games with a decent amount of humor at times and their newest release called Roid Rage has plenty of it, at least in the actual theme of the game itself. See in Roid Rage a JUICE tanker crashed and spilled a fat juice load which now needs to be rescued.
Many people like to think of themselves as crazy, creative, insane, geniuses, and makers of the best waffles. Very few can live up to being all of these things. We’re close, writing this post at almost 4am PST in the morning here. However the brothers who make up Butterscotch Shenanigans live up to all of these prestigious titles and then some. Now, starting today (Monday August 19th, 2013) at 8:30am CST and lasting all week, the developers of Towelfight 2 and Quadropus will be hosting the Butterscotch Jam.
In an ominous tweet from the fine folks over at Butterscotch Shenanigans, the company tweeted a quick Vine video of a game that will be making its way to PlayJam’s GameStick portable Android gaming console. What game would this be? Well it is their newest and currently incredibly popular release Quadropus Rampage.
