Carmageddon to bring classic motoring mayhem to Android on May 10th

Back in June of last year we talked about the fact that one of the classic racing games that contains plenty of carnage will be making its way to Android in the near future. Well it finally looks as though that ‘near future’ will be happening finally, almost a year later, as Carmageddon is slated for released onto Android finally on May 10th, 2013.

For those of you who happen to be unfamiliar with Carmageddon, this is a racing game but not in the standard format that most racing games are and that is because it is an open world racing game. This means that there really isn’t a set track, just that you have to be the first across the finish line regardless of which way you choose to go. To make things more interesting… and bloody… there is a unique points system in which you gain bonus points for running over pedestrians.

Carmageddon Features:

• 28 dangerously deranged opponents
• 11 wildly exhilarating environments
• Career mode featuring 36 satisfyingly violent Levels
• Race and wreck opponents to unlock 30 playable cars!
• Multiple control methods: digital, analogue (mix ‘n’ match), tilt
• Edit your control layout in-game to your preferences
• Comprehensive Action Replay System
• Environment maps and other special effects
• Enhanced pre-lit environments
• Buckets of gibs
• Tons of laughs

One rather good feature to Carmageddon is that it comes with multiple control options, all of which are customizable, so you can tweak them to better suit your playing style. There also happen to be plenty of way to earn bonus points while racing since there will be plenty of innocent pedestrians to run over while you race to the finish line. There is also plenty of different vehicles to use with spikes and other nifty modifications added to them to ensure maximum blood splattering.

If you’re a fan of the Carmageddon franchise then getting this game when it launches on May 10th is pretty much a given. However, you will be happy to know that Carmageddon will be available for download off of Google Play for free for the first 24 hours that it is live. After that it will become a paid games instead.
