The cult classic racing game Carmageddon by Stainless Games has had a free version of it made available for a limited time on Google Play. By limited time we mean only for 24hrs and then it will disappear and only the paid version of the game will be available. This little promotion is going on to celebrate Carmageddon’s soon to launch Steam Early Access.

Stainless Games have decided to run a promotion similar to the one that they did when the company originally released the classic and bloody game Carmageddon onto Google Play. For those of you unfamiliar with Carmageddon, this particular game is actually quite a classic as it was originally released 16 years ago on June 30th.
Carmageddon is a PC classic from the glory days of the vehicular combat genre. Even among a crowded market with games like Twisted Metal and Vigilante 8, Carmageddon stood out with how it approached combat, its use of black comedy and the sheer amount of gore. But how well does this PC game from 1997 port to Android?
About a week ago we reported that Carmaggedon would be arriving on May 10th, 2013 onto Google Play. Well it seems Stainless Games wanted to get a jump start and have released the game a day early. True to their word as well, there is a full version of the game available on Google Play for free for the next 24 hours.
Back in June of last year we talked about the fact that one of the classic racing games that contains plenty of carnage will be making its way to Android in the near future. Well it finally looks as though that ‘near future’ will be happening finally, almost a year later, as Carmageddon is slated for released onto Android finally on May 10th, 2013.
