For those of you who like to collect and battle with creatures, you must’ve heard of (and played) Cassette Beasts on PC or consoles already. The good news is that you’ll soon be able to play Cassette Beasts on Android. The indie developer of the game, Bytten Studio just dropped this awesome news. So, keep reading to know more!
Cassette Beasts is a monster-taming RPG that originally rolled out for PC in April 2023. It then landed on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch a month later, in May 2023. Now, Bytten Studio is bringing Cassette Beasts on Android and iOS devices later this year.
What’s The Game About?
In Cassette Beasts, you collect monsters, beef them up and throw them into battle. Your hunting ground is New Wirral, an island brimming with exotic creatures ready for the taking. Once you’ve duked it out in turn-based combat and snagged a beast, it’s stored as a cassette tape. Well, now you know the logic behind the name.
These cassette tapes then become your ace in the hole during fights to snag even more creatures. You can also mash any two monster forms together to conjure up a new, animated hybrid that’s all yours. Ahem, for all our Gen-Z readers out there, did you just Google ‘cassette’?
As you dive into the story, you’re quickly schooled in monster-catching by your first human pal via a classic cassette player. And once you’re set, the world is full of quests. There are over 130 monsters with their own tales. They’ll trot alongside you across New Wirral and use their special moves to uncover hidden spots, solve riddles and track down dungeons.
You’ll also meet the archangels, beastly bosses that you have to beat. Also, stickers are the game’s way of customizing your monster’s skills, with new ones unlocked at each level. It’s unique because of its fusion mechanics, customizable moves, charming art style, toe-tapping tunes and a quirky narrative. Alright, so the endgame could use some oomph, but the ride there is worth it.
