[Updated] Craneballs Studios’ sequel Overkill 2 makes a brief appearance on Google Play

Back in February of this year we talked about Craneballs Studios upcoming sequel to their ‘kill everything in sight’ FPS game Overkill. While there are goals and achievements to accomplish the game, its real draw was that there was a ridiculous amount of weaponry you could use and the fact there were factions of players, competing for the highest score over other ones.

Overkill 2 was originally slated for release on March 28th, 2013 but the release date had to be pushed back about a week to April 4th. This was mostly due to the fact that Apple rejected the initial submission twice (it is available now though). Well Overkill 2 made a brief appearance on Google Play which, if you signed up early meant you get a free exclusive weapon, but then promptly disappeared.

Going to the Google Play link for the game now turns up the lovely “Not Found” message. There could be a couple of reasons for the game getting pulled. First, apparently some Android users were having issues with the game not working. The other reason is beyond us but instead of getting bad reviews because of a bug or two, the company probably just pulled the game to fix it real quickly.

When will it be back on Google Play? We aren’t sure and there is no official word on the company’s blog so it could be today or tomorrow for all we know. If you’re a fan of the original game though, an extra day of waiting isn’t too bad. When the game does come back, we will post an update.

April 8th, 2013 1:17pm PST: Overkill 2 is now back on Google Play. We’ve added the link below so you can go get it! Thanks to Joshua in the comments for the heads up!
