Curiosity will be coming to Android August 22nd but what the hell is it?

Molyneux’s upcoming experimental game, called Curiosity, being developed in conjunction with 22 Cans is slated for release on August 22nd, 2012 on Android, iOS and PC. Right now we know that the game revolves around millions of players chipping away at a revolving block that, as it is chipped away, breaks off into smaller and smaller pieces.

Inside the cube is a secret and when it is revealed, only one person will be able to see it who may or may not walk away with a cool $50,000 in-game diamond pickaxe. The game itself supports in-game purchases that range from $0.50 to the coveted $50,000 pickaxe which you use on the block. So why chip away at this rotating block?

Because whatever is hidden inside the cube is so amazingly, mind-boggling awesome that Molyneux says it will be reported on by the news. He goes on to state that what is inside is ” so valuable, and so life-changingly important. It will make the God Particle seem smaller than an atom.”

Interestingly enough someone created a spoof trailer for Curiosity which actually does a good job advertising it instead of spoofing it which you can check out in the video above. To be fair, unless $10 million dollars lands in my lap when what is inside is uncovered, it won’t be changing my life. However, like the game is called, I am rather curious to see what is inside.
