DotEmu to bring another classic game to Android, this time it’s Another World

DotEmu are a group of developers who bring classic video games to various platforms. They are already responsible for bringing R-Type to Android and now the crew from DotEmu have announced a new game heading our way called Another World (a.k.a Out Of This World).

Originally released on the Amiga back in 1991, Another World quickly gained a cult following through it’s unique use of cinematics within the game along with having the characters communicating through facial expressions, gestures and actions only. In this game, if you are not familiar with it, you will be playing as Lester who you will be making jump, run, attack and do various other actions in this platformer. He also comes equipped with a laser pistol which has three different types of shots that it can do, which he got after taking down his alien captor.

Another World is not an easy game either. Lester eventually gets an alien ally and as you progress through the game, neither of you can take any damage or the game is over. This new version for Android will feature all the same gameplay from the original game but will come with a few extra options like the ability to play the game in new HD graphics or flip it back to 1991 and play with the original eye candy.

The game will also come with completely remastered sound effects and music and new touch controls for you to use. Of course if you want to break out a controller you should be able to do that as well. Lastly there will be a total of three difficulty levels for you to play through. Another World will be coming to Android in a ‘few months’ so until then we can just enjoy the iOS trailer above. This release is to celebrate Another World’s 20th Anniversary.
