The early access build of Dragon Quest Tact, the much-anticipated turn-based tactical role-playing game from series creator Yuki Horii, is out now in the west.
Dragon Quest Tact’s arrival on western Google Play Stores is a minor surprise. We knew it was coming, thanks to a confirmation at the end of September, but we had no idea when. In the end, we only had to wait around three weeks.
Gameplay-wise, Dragon Quest Tact sees you befriending, training, and battling monsters from across the Dragon Quest games. These battles take place on grids, and boast over-the-top attack animations and a general air of frivolity.
Units come in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, and apparently there’s an “ever-growing list of freely obtainable monsters”, all of which can be customized and upgraded.
You can download Dragon Quest Tact for free right now on the Google Play Store.
