What is Dumb Ways to Die?
If you’re not familiar with the Dumb Ways to Die franchise, it’s got a pretty interesting backstory. The original game is based on a public campaign (PSA) for Australian Metro Trains. This was created to promote safety when travelling by train in Melbourne. The official game is a direct adaptation of the popular animation, and quickly became a viral success in 2012.
The game is widely known for its catchy theme tune, making it the subject of many playthrough YouTube videos. There are two other entries in the franchise, with the latest addition being the first game since 2017. Additionally, Dumb Ways to Die 4 is the first game in the series developed by PlaySide Studios, who acquired the franchise back in 2021.
A TikTok Viral Sensation
The sequel announcement follows hot on the hells from a resurgence on the famous social media app, TikTok. Users are taking to the app to use the game’s original title song alongside videos, which has helped to increase the amount of overall downloads.
Despite the first game being ten years old, it clearly still has an audience. Now you can help rebuild Beanville and take part in the chaotic minigames that you’ve come to love.
