EA releases a free version of Tetris, makes paid versions almost pointless

EA has just released a free version of Tetris, the official Tetris that is and not any sort of slight variant version that you can find on the Android Market by searching for Tetris. However, by releasing this free version, EA has almost made the paid versions pointless.

There’s nothing wrong with releasing a game for free and having a paid version as well. Many developers do just that and it’s great. EA actually has two paid versions of Tetris on the Android Market, one for $2.99 and another for $7.99. There is a difference though between the paid and free versions and that is the free version is only one game mode while both paid versions have multiple game modes for you to play.

However Tetris is Tetris and the game modes are just enhancements of that. A lot of people may not even play the other game modes in the paid versions and if you’re looking for just pure Tetris enjoyment then EA’s free version is all you need. Also, for those of you who are curious, there is little to no difference between the $2.99 and the $7.99 paid versions, even the descriptions are the same. You can download Tetris for free right now of the Android Market.

Thanks to everyone who sent this in!
