Exploding Kittens 2 has just dropped the final update in its Explosive Expansion Pass, the Barking Kittens Expansion. With it, Marmalade Game Studio is bringing in eight new cards and eleven new deck builds. It’s out on all platforms now.
Woof Woof!
The Barking Kittens expansion brings a card mechanic to Exploding Kittens 2 that thrives on suspense and paranoia. The Barking Kitten cards come in pairs, and when one is played, the whole table holds its breath. If another player has the second Barking Kitten, they instantly explode unless they can defuse it.
Seven more cards are part of the expansion. There’s Bury, letting you sneak the next card you’d draw back into the deck as if you had defused it. I’ll Take That allows you to snatch the next card an opponent draws.
Meanwhile, Potluck forces every player to toss a card onto the top of the draw pile face down, which is bound to mess with everyone’s plans. Then there’s Tower of Power, a popular comeback that forces anyone trying to steal from you to grab randomly from a hidden stash.
Personal Attack gives you three back-to-back turns, perfect for you if don’t care about consequences. Alter the Future NOW and Share the Future both bring a twist to deck manipulation. The latter requires you to show your rearranged top cards to the next player, inviting either strategy or pure trolling.
The eleven new decks in Barking Kittens of Exploding Kittens 2 is special
Each of the new decks brings a different method of sabotage. The Barking Kittens deck is about high-stakes confrontation. Black Hole deck draws inspiration from the Imploding Kittens expansion and throws some dangerous surprises.
Power Play is loaded with the strongest cards possible, which could either save you or paint a huge target on your back. Sharing Is Caring sounds friendly but can go either way, while the Nope Sauce deck is a lot of cancelling and denying.
Then there’s the Meowsochist deck, which lets you walk a tightrope between winning big and blowing up. Eye for an Eye is about seeing the future, but not necessarily being able to stop it. Card Hoarders forces you to stop skipping turns or avoiding draws, essentially strapping you to the deck.
Mind Games lives up to its name by rewarding bluffing and psychological manipulation. Cat Fight deck accelerates aggression with rapid-fire attacks. Lastly, Sticky Fingers is for relentless thieves who enjoy stealing every chance they get.
Undoubtedly, there’s a lot to explore in this expansion. So, get the game from the Google Play Store.
