Facebook game Galaxy Online 2 HD from IGG.COM comes to Android

I Got Games (a.k.a. IGG.COM), a company known for the games they’ve released onto Facebook as well as their Android game Texas Hold’Em Poker Deluxe, seems to be getting aboard the Android train a little bit more as they just launched a mobile version of their Facebook hit Galaxy Online 2, a sci-fi space-themed strategy game that gives us all the pros and some of the cons of social gaming nowadays.

The game, which they claim has reported around “7 million people raving in 15 different languages”, is a space combat title with strategy elements. You’ll find yourself creating structures, getting resources from your planet and battling against other players or pirates. A lot of what you do in a standard RTS title actually.

Galaxy Online 2 Features:

– Live interactive game play!
– Get a FREE $50 Newbie Package just for playing!
– High-end sci-fi graphics!
– Design over 5,000 unique starships!
– Endless quest options!
– Build and protect your empire
– Destroy wicked space pirates and more
– Invite friends to strengthen your empire
– Collect gold from the citizens of your empire
– Build an unbeatable space fleet

The game graphics are those of a Facebook game with good animation effects. Sound effects are good as well, reminiscent of games like Starcraft or Warfare Inc. Galaxy Online 2 uses a cooldown system for some of their game mechanics such as constructing buildings. You’ll also find that it comes with in-game currency, obtainable by in-app purchases, that go up to $500 (lucky you for those who can buy some of that).

Overall, Galaxy Online 2 HD comes as an alternative to common strategy games that gives you an interesting option with a social factor imbued. It’s available for free on Google Play. It also comes standard with the half-nude cartoon women in the promo images most RTS games seem to be using these days. Enjoy!
