Fortnite has added Blitz Royale Mode, which is a mobile-exclusive addition to the game. After Fortnite’s return to the EU via the Epic Games Store (and the App Store in the USA), it’s the first major update for mobile players.

What does Blitz Royale Bring to Fortnite?

Just 32 players, a smaller map, and matches that can be over in under five minutes. Everyone drops in with the same random medallion or a unique weapon.

There’s no early-game scramble for loot that puts slower players at a disadvantage. Instead, it’s about using what you’re given, surviving storm circles, and picking up eliminations to raise your Blitz Level.

It unlocks better gear and power-ups along the way. You can solo it or team up in squads of four. Meanwhile, Golden Chests and Supply Drops will still tempt you to risk it all for a bigger advantage.

In place of the usual loot names, Blitz Royale calls its power-ups Boons. You won’t find any building mechanics here either. That change alone makes this mode feel much less like regular Fortnite.

Blitz Royale even adjusts the training in Fortnite. The Team Rumble mode is out, and Training Grounds is in. It’s a single-location skirmish mode with unlimited respawns.

There’s a schedule, too

Blitz Royale in Fortnite runs until July 15th, with four themed weeks of events. The first one kicks off June 18th with Launch Week. It features Mythic versions of classic weapons like the Rocket Ram, found in rare Golden Llamas.

Week two lands on June 24th, where the map gets pagodas from the Four Nations. You start with a Bending Scroll from Avatar: The Last Airbender.

On July 1st, it’s the Bad Bosses week, where Bending Scrolls are swapped out for powerful boss weapons like Thorne’s Vampiric Blade and the new Blitz Chain of Hades.

And the final week, starting July 8th, is TMNT Melee Mayhem. You can expect melee weapons from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the Mythic Typhoon Blade, Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists, and the Blitz Kneecapper.
