Foundation: Galactic Frontier is now out and this time, it’s a global launch. The game soft-launched in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the UK and the US in September 2024. It’s based on Isaac Asimov’s super-hit science fiction novel series Foundation Trilogy, which was released in 1942-50.
Forge Your Galactic Legacy
Set in the aftermath of the Galactic Empire’s downfall, you play as a free agent. You can play as a trader, bounty hunter, or even a political strategist, juggling relationships with the Foundation, rebels, and other emerging factions.
Every decision in The Master Trader’s Galactic Odyssey influences the story. Your base of operations is your mothership. It’s a floating home that you can construct and customize. A self-sustaining hub complete with food systems, water recyclers, oxygen farms, and a few defensive cannons.
Exploration is a huge part of the game. It sends you across mysterious planets and abandoned space ruins. And the landing missions task you to deploy three-hero strike teams to face off against alien threats and uncover secrets buried in the stars.
Each hero brings a unique personality to your team. There’s a sarcastically-challenged robot with encyclopaedic knowledge, a legendary space cowboy and even a notorious criminal with a weird, wild past.

In the game, you can construct fleets, manage trade routes, and go head-to-head in massive alliance battles for control of the galactic economy. The challenge lies in rising as a trade power amid the mess of collapsing systems and rival factions.
What do you think about the global launch of Foundation: Galactic Frontier?
If you’ve read the novels or watched the TV series, you’ll see that the game captures the scale and ambition of Asimov’s universe in a more action-driven way. It doesn’t strictly follow the philosophical depth of the original work. But that’s a given for RPGs, right?
If you’re interested, you can grab the game from the Google Play Store.
