While a lot of Shield Android TV owners are waiting for the release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel which should be happening soon, Nvidia has announced four new games for their Shield brand of devices, all of which are now available. The new games are Half-Life 2 Episode 2, Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut, Never Alone, and Funk of Titans.
Depending on the genre of games you preference, one of these games should have you covered. Half-Life 2 Episode 2 is an FPS game while Q.U.B.E is a first-person puzzle game. Never Alone (a.k.a Kisima Ingitchuna) is a very artistic puzzle-platformer, and Funk of Titans is a side-scrolling arcade-platformer with a Globe Trotter looking afro wearing hero that you get to play.
Half-Life 2 Episode 2 by Valve
Half-Life 2 Episode 2 is the second installment from Valve that extends the story from the original Hal-f-Life 2 game. As the story goes, players will assume the role of Dr. Gordon Freeman. You were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. Players will battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.
This game follows the usual FPS style of gameplay found in the Half-Life franchise, with futuristic weaponry at your disposal and plenty of aliens to kill using those weapons. So if you’re a fan of the Half-Life franchise, you’ll probably want to grab this game. It’ll cost you $7.99 to download this game, and there are no IAPs either. Compatibility for this game is for the Shield Tablet and Android Shield TV and requires a controller to play. You’ll also need to make sure you have plenty of space as this game weighs in at 4.33GB in size.

Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut by Trendy Entertainment
From the folks behind Dungeon Defenders one and two comes Q.U.B.E. which is a 3D puzzle game. The Director’s Cut expands on the original game, and improves various aspects of it as well including the visuals. This game has a little bit of everything in it though, not just puzzles. Players will be using special high-tech gloves to manipulate cubes in the environment. Players will be needing to solve an array of conundrums which range from physics-based challenges to 3D jigsaws and even platform-based trials.
Q.U.B.E. Director’s Cut is available to download for $9.99 off of Google Play and does contain optional IAPs as well. This game is compatible with all Shield devices as well as some non-Shield Android phones and tablets.

Never Alone (a.k.a Kisima Ingitchuna) by E-Line Media
Never Alone is a very artistic puzzle-platformer that follows the story of Nuna and Fox who set out on a journey to find the source behind an eternal blizzard that is threatening the existence of everything. This game was developed in collaboration with Iñupiat, an Alaska Native people, since the game’s storyline is based off of an actual story the Iñupiat pass down from generation to generation.
Players will be controlling both characters as they play through the game, or a friend can join and help out in co-op multiplayer by taking control of one of the two characters. You will have to get around different hazards as well as taking on a variety of enemies, and you will need to use both characters effectively to get through this game. Never Alone is available for $14.99, contains no IAPs, and is compatible with all Shield devices (Shield Portable, Tablet, and Android TV).

Funk of Titans by A Crowd of Monster
Funk of Titan is an arcade puzzle-platformer where players control Perseus, the son of Zeus, who also happens to sport a pretty slick afro haircut and a funky yellow tracksuit (among other outfits). Perseus is also the protector of the holy music called The Funk. Players will be going up against the evil Musical Titans, taking out their rap, pop, and rock music to make sure The Funk survives in all its glory. This includes epic dance battles as well.
Funk of Titans is available for $5.64 and is available only for the Shield Android TV.
