Gameloft modifies their DRM once again. Now allows the ability to re-download purchased games on new devices.

Gameloft has once again revised their DRM policy with a change to the ability to re-download purchased games once you get a new Android device. Previously, unless you went through customer service, you wouldn’t be able to download purchased games onto your new Android device. That has changed.

The change comes in time with other changes Gameloft have been making lately including launching their games on the Android Market… finally. The change to the DRM policy bring the ability to re-download purchased games onto your new Android device when you get one. Before, unless you went through customer service, you would have to back-up your games onto your SD Card and transfer them over.

Now you can simply go to the Gameloft website and re-download your games that you have purchased and install them on your new Android device. This change to their DRM policy should make a lot of people happy. This change has been confirmed by staff at Gameloft as well so if you buy a new Android device and can not re-install a game you have already purchased, hit customer service up and they should be able to help you.

On a side note: Any old .apk files that you have save as back-up of Gameloft games will not work anymore.

Thanks to Dave Loft for the tip!
