Gameloft releases trailer for Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation

About a week or so ago Gameloft hinted at a new FPS game that would be debuting soon with an image posted on Twitter of some bullets. That was all the information that was given but now we can rest easy in knowing what game that was about, Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation.

In this third installment in the Modern Combat series, Gameloft has really come through with getting the controls customizable by allowing gamers to move the on-screen controls to just about anywhere they want them to be. This is good news for people who enjoy FPS games as you can get situated better with the controls and at least get a little closer to true “twitch” gaming. That said, there are a lot of details coming out about this new game.

Graphics have been improved upon as well and while it is still unknown if this is one of the titles Gameloft hinted at coming in the future with being developed by Unreal Engine, the graphics are looking very nice. Between that and the new control scheme, gameplay is much faster and fluid feeling then the previous versions according to IGN who were lucking enough to test run a copy of Modern Combat 3: Fallen Nation. Of course there will be more guns, vehicles and ammoe to enjoy as well.

Multiplayer will also make it’s appearance in this third installment as well and will be what FPS gamers are really looking for. Sure the single player game is nice but after that it’s all about the multiplayer. In this game, multiplayer will support up to 12 players per map and at launch there will be 6 maps with 6 different modes of play (Death Match, Team Death Match etc etc). Pushing further into multiplayer you’ll find a Call of Duty type XP model where you’ll be gaining experience points and ranking up (total of 90 ranks!) through Gameloft Live. Gameloft also mentioned that they will be updating this game frequently with even more maps and content.

No word just yet on how soon this game will be released, although Q4 2011 is being cited, and for what platform first although it would be safe to assume it will land on iOS before Android.
