Gameloft updates Modern Combat 5 with armor customization and a new map

Gameloft has released an update today for their popular FPS game Modern Combat 5. This update brings with it the ability to customize your armor as well as a new multiplayer map for folks to shoot each other on. The armor customization is actually quite interesting now that each class has a default armor that can be built upon.

Regardless of what class you play in Modern Combat 5, your character will now have a default armor. This armor can be customized with various parts that belong to a tactical suit, with each suit consisting of four parts. Players will need to collect all four parts in order to unlock the full tactical suit along with the 2 new unique perks that come with it. Each class has their own dedicated tactical suit which can not be used with other classes.

The two perks can be used even without the full suit being equipped:

– Masks grants special perks that are always active
– Arms, Torso and Legs offer armor bonus

The two unique perks are granted when the full suit is on though. Along with all of this armor building and tactical suits, players can now equip different camo to your class armor.

This update also brings a new multiplayer map for players to jump into. It is a “medium sized map set in an urban battleground designed for both close combat and long range firefights“. Lastly, there are five new weapon trinkets added to Modern Combat 5. All of this update won’t be available right away either. Instead, while some of it is available immediately, other parts of it will be unlocked progressively.

The Modern Combat 5 update is now available for download off of Google Play.
