[Gamescom 2013] Vivid Games announces their newest title Godfire: Rise of Prometheus

Vivid Games, developers of Real Boxing, have announced their new game that they have been working on called Godfire: Rise of Prometheus. As you may be guessing from the name, this new game is inspired by Greek mythology and is a third-person action game where you’ll be going around killing off a variety of monsters.

Players will take charge of Prometheus whose goal is to recover the powerful Godfire Spark, bringing it back to the mortal world. This requires you to take on a fairly big journey with plenty of monster slaying to be had. According the the details released, players will have full control of their character which indicates that this won’t be any sort of on-rails type of game.

With Godfire: Rise of Prometheus, we’re building upon the high standards in graphics and gameplay that we achieved in Real Boxing and taking the Unreal 3 engine to fantastic new heights. To help with this process, we’ve partnered with Oscar-nominated animation studio Platige Image, to work with us on the design, animation and other graphical elements of the game. We’re also giving the game its own distinct visual style by blending the familiar classical Greek aesthetic with new and exciting futuristic elements. – Remi Koscielny, CEO Vivid Games.

Unfortunately there isn’t a whole lot more regarding details about Godfire released just yet. Vivid Games does mentioned that this will be a premium game which hints at this not being a free-to-play title. Right now Godfire: Rise of Prometheus is slated for release in early 2014.
