Google Play will finally let you gift credit to other people via email

One thing people have wanted for some time now is to be able to send Google Play credit to other people. Well today we sort of have that ability now as Google will now let people send credit as a gift through email. Before everyone gets crazy and starts sending Google Play credit all over the place, this is only for US residents right now.

If you live in the United States, as of today you can send Google Play credit to a friend or family member as a gift through an email. The option to do this is over in the right-side bar and is labeled simply as “send gift”. From there you will have the option of purchasing $10, $15, $20, $25, $50, or $100, then sending it as a gift. However, there is no limit to the amount you can send. So you can buy $300 worth of credit, in three $100 increments, but send the entire amount as a single gift.

After selecting the amount you want to send, all you have to do is enter the email address of the person you are sending the credit to, and a message (if there is one). The only way to buy credit for a gift is through a debit/credit card or Google Wallet. Existing Google Play credit balance can’t be used.
