Google will be holding a developer conference for Project Ara and you can watch it live now

Google’s modular solution for Android devices, called Project Ara, has its own developer conference and today marks the second one of these to be held. The really good thing about this is that if you can’t attend it, which if you are reading this then you probably are not attending, it will be streamed live and you can watch it right here.

For those of you not familiar with what Project Ara is, essentially this blurs the line a little bit more between PC and Android. Project Ara basically brings the idea of modular designs to Android devices, sort of like how you can customize a PC through swapping out parts, the same will be available for Project Ara devices. Modules will be swappable by simply pulling one out and replacing it with a new one. Each of these modules will be a specific type of hardware, like RAM, so you can upgrade your phone and customize its specs just like a PC.

What will actually be covered during the conference is still somewhat up in the air. It would be great if we got confirmation on companies who will be making modules, what those modules will be, and availability for devices and modules. As an PC gamer knows, the ability to swap out parts to upgrade them is great and having that in an Android device to make it more of a gaming device, or whatever you need it to be, will be not only fun to do, but essential as well.

The live stream starts at 11am EST and you can watch it when it starts through the video above.
