Guild of Dungeoneering will be getting an expansion later this month called Pirates Cove

Guild of Dungeoneering was recently released onto Android by Versus Evil, with Gambrinous being the developers. Since the game’s release onto mobile, the developers have been working on bringing the first expansion, called Pirate’s Cove, to this version and it looks to be almost ready for release.

For those of you not familiar with this game, Guild of Dungeoneering has players being the controller of a dungeon, instead of being the one crawling through it and trying not to die. At the start of the game you will receive a random deck of cards. These cards are what you will be using to expand and populated your dungeon with monsters, additional rooms, traps, and loot. However, you won’t be controlling the hero while it moves through your ever evolving dungeon trying to take your loot. But, when the hero does encounter a monster, control will switch for you to the hero until the fight ends, then you’ll be back to building the dungeon.

The Pirate’s Cove expansion will add a lot of new content to the game, all of which is themed around pirates and other naval themes including a whole new region. On top of the new region, the update will also add another 3 new dungeoneering classes to play with, 23 new monsters that you will need to learn to defeat, and 27 new items to find and equip in order to help defeat those new monsters.

So when will Pirate’s Cove arrive? Right now there is a launch date of August 30th, 2016 for its arrival onto Android. If you own the game before it arrives, you’ll get the update for free. If you don’t own the game, you’ll be able to pick up a copy of Guild of Dungeoneering for $3.99. However, after the expansion arrives, the price of the game will go up to $4.99 permanently. In the meantime you can check out the expansion’s launch trailer below.
