HAAK is a Promising Mobile Metroidvania with an Apocalyptic Setting and an Electric Hookshot

During this weekend’s INDIE Live Expo 2020, developer Blingame revealed HAAK, a promising metroidvania set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.

As you can see in the trailer below, HAAK has a stylish aesthetic, with cartoony, almost pixel-art visuals and dynamic lighting. Apparently, Blingame is going for fluid movement, unique weapon settings, and a faster pace than mobile gamers are accustomed to. High difficulty is not on the agenda.

It’s also got a hookshot, called an Electric Hook, enabling you to swing between nodes rather than just running along the ground like a chump. It’s also a weapon, and a remote button-presser.

Storywise, the game sees you seeking the light of hope while the narrative gradually falls into place. You’ll also complete sidequests along the way. It’s not clear yet when HAAK will be available, but we do know that it’s coming to PC and Switch as well as mobile.

More news as we get it.
