Halfbrick’s first big hit, Fruit Ninja, has been out for quite a long time now. Even to this day it is still a pretty fun game but that doesn’t mean Halfbrick hasn’t been working on improving it. In fact the company has pushed out a pretty massive update that not only adds a lot of new content, but also adds plenty of new optimizations.
This new update for Fruit Ninja adds some unique effects to both Dojos and the blades you use in-game. These effects actually change the gameplay a lot, adding a whole new level of complexity to it. If you are trying to pull of something specific like a ten-fruit Great Wave or to have bouncing clouds to never drop a fruit, you can now mix-and-match different gear to pull these things off. Essentially what this means is your gear is now more important than ever.
There are also two new character in Fruit Ninja: Katsuro and Mari. Both of these characters also have their own unique weaponry to use in their quest for slicing as much fruit as possible. There will also be even more characters added to the game in the coming weeks.
As for optimizing the game, Fruit Ninja has been redesigned for ease of navigation and play. There are no more menus and instead everything is easily accessible right off the jump. All three game modes are still present but with the addition of the new effects Dojos and blades have, they now feel like completely different modes.
