Heroes of Steel RPG and Delver’s Drop both successfully funded

Two games we have previously reported on that had gone to Kickstarter have successfully been funded. Heroes of Steel RPG by the Trese Brothers and Delver’s Drop by Pixelscopic have both reached their funding goals and both games will be developed and arrive on Android when they are done. Delver’s Drop will also be heading to the Android-powered console OUYA as well when it is released.

For those of you who missed our previous coverage regarding Heroes of Steel RPG or Delver’s Drop, here is a quick recap of each game. Heroes of Steel RPG is the newest title under development by the Trese Brothers who happen to already have a few successful RPGs under their belt on Android. This new game is a fantasy-based one set in the world of Steel where you will be building a team of characters in order to battle the forces of darkness.

Heroes of Steel RPG features a squad-based turn-based tactical RPG system where players will have a party of four heroes to command, with each hero having their own set of unique abilities and skills that you will need to strategically use in order to successfully progress through the game. There are currently four classes slated for this game: The Outlander, Wizard, Cleric and Thief. Each class will have their own skill tree as well so you can customize each one to suit your play style. Heroes of Steel RPG will be released onto Android phones and tablets once development is complete.

Delver’s Drop by Pixelscopic on the other hand is a dungeon crawler style game that features some RPG and rogue-like elements layered on top. In this game you actually play as someone who has been locked up and in order to escape you will have to work your way through the dungeons, upgrading your gear along the way as well as your skills.

Delver’s Drop Features:

Immense & Unpredictable Dungeon Dive: 8 zones of castle dungeons with 4 sub-levels to explore. Levels will be combined from masterfully designed hand-crafted rooms and components, with randomized content and floor layouts.
Physics-based Hack & Slash Combat: Since all characters and enemies move and collide on a physics-based system, any interplay of attacks, traps, and magic resolve based on responsive, snazzy, and sometimes chaotic physics effects.
Multiple Characters & Play Styles: Play the game with one or all of the 5 character classes (some to be decided by backers!). Classes have unique speed and movement properties, weapon, special ability, and perk tree, giving each a different play style.
Character Growth & Customization: Gain experience as you play each class, and keep this progress through the class’s perk tree even if your current character dies. Level up if you want more flexibility, but Delver’s Drop is totally grind-free.
Weapons & Sub-Items: The player can find and purchase interesting and upgraded weapons for each class, as well as a large suite of expendable sub-items that are randomly spawn during each session. But items slots are limited, requiring intelligent use!
Puzzles & Secrets: Like many action adventure games, Delver’s Drop will feature interesting puzzles, requiring clever manipulation of dungeon elements, using physics to advantage, and resourceful usage of secondary items.

As for the rogue-like elements in Delver’s Drop, these come in the form of randomized levels, puzzle and narrative paths so each time you play through the game it will be different. Visually, Delver’s Drop looks quite good and the game plays out a bit like an old school Zelda game. When it launches, Delver’s Drop will be released onto a variety of platforms including Android devices and OUYA.

Both games have successfully been funded so we will be keeping an eye on both for any additional information that comes out over the next little while, especially regarding any sort of release date for either game.
