Publisher Chucklefish and developer Hidden Layer Games have launched their award-winning puzzle-platformer Inmost. The atmospheric title was previously an Apple Arcade exclusive. It’s now available as a standalone mobile release.
Explore the darkness
Inmost was first launched on PC and Nintendo Switch. It gained popularity for its dark, emotional storytelling woven through the perspectives of three distinct characters.
There’s a knight exploring the ruins of a decaying castle, a child uncovering secrets in a shadowed house, and a wanderer navigating a world filled with despair. Each thread connects into one larger, deeply personal tale.
You get to explore every corner of the game’s pixel-art world. There are secret passages and collectibles to find while luring enemies into deadly traps. You solve the puzzles using a range of tools, including a scythe, hookshot, and pickaxe.

Inmost comes from the house of Stardew Valley
Chucklefish was once one of the publishers of Stardew Valley. Their current Android roster includes the recently released Wildfrost. Their other published games include Risk of Rain, Timespinner, Pathway, and Eastward. And as developers, they have created games like Starbound and Wargroove.
Hidden Layer Games, the developer of Inmost, is a small indie studio formed by developers Andriy Vinchokovskiy and Alexey Testov. Earlier this month, the devs shared that Inmost reached 1.2 million players worldwide ahead of its mobile launch.
With its emotional storytelling and evocative art, Inmost continues to stand out as a rare indie title. On Android, you get a free introductory chapter before unlocking the full version for $3.99. It also supports 14 languages, including English, French, Japanese, Korean, Turkish, Simplified and Traditional Chinese. Check it out on the Google Play Store.
