Looking for something to balance out the wholesome tone of the holiday season? Well, you’re in luck. The Little Nightmares Android version just arrived and this dark adventure should bring the creepiness to your Christmas.

Little Nightmares is a game Tarsier Studios originally released in 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It’s a macabre platformer that deals with the fear and struggle of being a small and fragile creature in a world too big for them.. one filled with things much further up the food chain.

Enter The Maw.. And Try To Get Out

You take on the role of Six, a small girl in a yellow coat who finds herself in an unenviable situation. Six finds herself stuck at the bottom of The Maw. This is a massive ship that appears to capture children for reasons that involve chefs and butcher paper. Yikes. For this reason, you really don’t want to get caught.

Gameplay means traveling through the oppressive place, built for things larger than you, and using your wits to outsmart the monstrous staff that patrol its gloomy halls. These creatures are grotesque, but just close enough to human to give that uncanny valley punch in the gut.

A Mouse In The Walls

You can’t tackle these ghoulish individuals head-on. They tower over you. Your only choice is to use to diminutive size you your advantage and hide from their attention for as long as possible. Then, when they see you, do your best to get into areas they can’t reach. It’s that or face your fate as food for their endless appetite.

It seems like the Maw’s monsters aren’t the only ones struggling with hunger though.. but we won’t spoil the story too much for you. Some things you should see firsthand.
