Looks like Google and Samsung could have another Nexus device coming soon

While we will slide this under the Rumor category of things, it does appear to have some solid ground to stand on in terms of how flaky rumors can be. In this case it appears that Google and Samsung could very well already have another Nexus device in the works, codenamed Superior, which brings a specs bump to the Galaxy Nexus.

The device in question is the Samsung GT-I9260 which is codenamed Superior and in what appears to be a leaked spec sheet SamMobile got a hold of, it is also labeled as ‘Nexus’. For the most part it appears that this will be a Galaxy Nexus but boosted a bit more in the hardware department.

The CPU will get a bit of a push from the current 1.2GHz found in the Galaxy Nexus to 1.5GHz while the cameras, both front and rear, both getting a bit of an upgrade as well to 1.8MP in the front and 8MP in the rear. The screen size is staying the same though at 4.56″. The only thing that seems out of place is the inclusion of a MicroSD slot, something that has never appeared in a Nexus device and that Google has stated in the past that they would rather not include.

As TheVerge points out though, MicroSD slot or not, this fits right into the time frame of Nexus releases with the Galaxy Nexus debuting in November 2011 and Q4 2012 is only a few months from now. OF course take all of this with a grain of salt.
