Second Dinner is bringing something big for their players: a global tournament! Marvel Snap has announced the Golden Gauntlet World Championship Series. It’s a wide-open, community-focused series that welcomes everyone.
The Marvel Snap Golden Gauntlet World Championship kicks off on August 9th, 2025
This series doesn’t have any rank barriers or collection level requirements. Just sign up, show up, and play. The first qualifier starts August 9th with Golden Gauntlet Open 1, targeting players in the APAC region and Western US. It begins at 5 PM PST and will be capped at 1024 players.
The format includes six Swiss rounds followed by a Top 16 single-elimination bracket. Anyone who finishes with a 5-1 record or better secures a spot at the Golden Gauntlet Worlds later this year. Registration for the first event opens July 31st.
Two more Opens follow in September and October. Golden Gauntlet Open 2 will focus on players across the Americas. While Open 3 will cater to those in the EU and Eastern US. Marvel Snap will share the exact dates and registration details for them soon via the official Discord server.
It all leads up to the final showdown
The final aka the Golden Gauntlet Worlds is on November 8th, 2025. Over 300 qualified players from the Opens will battle it out in nine Swiss rounds before the top 16 head into the playoffs. Like the qualifiers, there are prizes for the top performers.
The whole series will be streamed live on the game’s official Twitch and YouTube channels. Also, the entire initiative is online, free to enter, and built for the community. There are no hidden entry fees or exclusive invites. I’m pretty excited to see how the series turns out to be!
