Maximum Racer coming to Android in December with exclusive Android-only features

Maximum Racer is a 3D racing game that has seen some pretty good results on the iOS platform but the developers, NekoNeko, are not stopping their and are bringing Maximum Racer over to Android. This version will have some features exclusive to the Android platform only.

A mesh between futuristic spaceship racing, tunnel racing and drift racing, Maximum Racing uses your device to steer your ship through each course trying to beat the clock while utilizing the concepts and mechanics of drift racing to take turns and avoid obstacles all at the same time. The iOS version had some touchy controls on it which hopefully the developer has fixed, possibly with a sensitivity adjustment option.

The game itself features some nice 3D eye candy for you to try and enjoy while you are speeding through each course. The Android version comes with a couple of features that won’t be found in the iOS version which includes a community built multiplayer gameplay mode where you can race against other players. The other feature is the Maximum Shopper which is where you will be able to purchase faster vehicles, premium levels and mini-games. As to whether the in-game credits used to purchase these items require you to use real world money or not remains to be seen.

Maximum Racer will be launching December 21, 2011 and will be priced at $4.99 when it launches. If you want to get in on the funding of this project, and make a little extra cash while funding it, head over to AppBackr and check out Maximum Racer’s listing over there. Gameplay will be slightly different on Android with the improvements, multiplayer and other features coming but it will give you an idea of what to expect.
