Maze Mice Is a Roguelite Where Time Only Moves When You Move, Out Now

Maze Mice is a new arcade survival game from the makers of Luck be a Landlord. Created by TrampolineTales, the rats fight back in this maze. The bullet heaven roguelite slows time to your command. Nothing moves until you do.

The game

An arcade Roguelike Survival

In Maze Mice, you slither through narrow corridors collecting dots and dodging cats. And alongside, you stack upgrades that turn your fragile mouse into a powerful survivor. The pacing is relaxed, and there’s no rush unless you decide to make one.

The game offers multiple cute characters to unlock. There’s also a generous list of upgrades to experiment with. You have to nab items like the wheel, black hole, pillow, which make for fun builds. You also get a bunch of different maps, like an attic, a garden and more.

The soundtrack is from the same composer who scored Luck be a Landlord, and the music plays a big part in the game’s charm. There’s a variety even in the tracks, which fits the game’s tone. On that note, catch a glimpse of the game below.

Will you get Maze Mice?

The game is fun to learn, satisfying to master, but perhaps a little light on long-term variety. Nonetheless, I feel Maze Mice’s central idea of freezing time until you move is its strongest hook. All you have to do is avoid cats at your own pace.

If you’re looking for a clever twist on the bullet heaven genre, Maze Mice is worth checking out. You can grab it from the Google Play Store at $4.99. The game is already available on Steam for PC players as it was released earlier this year.
