TellTale Games and Gearbox are apparently working on a new series of adventure games themed around the Borderlands world called Tales from theBorderlands. This new story-driven episodic adventure game series is currently slated for release sometime in 2014.
[UPDATE] December 17th, 2014 – 5:44 PM, PST: Telltale Games next game, Tales From the Borderlands is now available to download in the Google Play Store. If you are a fan of the Borderlands games that became immensely popular on consoles and PC’s, you are now able to play a prequel to those games, Telltale Games style. If you have played The Walking Dead games, or the more recent, The Wolf Among Us, then you know what to expect. The first episode of the game can be purchased for $4.99. Additional episodes are expected. Thus far, reviews in the Play Store have been extremely positive. The link to download the game can be found at the end of this article.
So what is Tales from the Borderland about? Well unfortunately we don’t have a ton of details about this new series right now. What we do know is that all the existing characters in the Borderlands world as well as new ones making an appearance in this new series. That is, unfortunately about as much as we know.
TellTale Games announced this new series during the Video Game Awards however that wasn’t all that was announced. The company also confirmed the rumors regarding them working on a Game of Thrones title as well. Both games do not have platforms confirmed, only that they will be coming to mobile devices in 2014 so there is a slim chance it may end up on iOS only.
