New cloud gaming service CiiNOW brings more Triple-A titles to mobile devices

While some people may think that cloud gaming isn’t ready just yet to be fully adopted into the gaming industry, especially in regards to using services like OnLive and Gaikai on mobile devices, a company called CiiNOW has launched it’s own cloud gaming service, bringing more Triple-A titles to PC, SmartTVs, Tablets and phones.

If you have experience already with cloud gaming with services like OnLive, you already know that the entire platform is cross-platform compatible, allowing you to play a game on your PC, then pick it back up on your Android tablet for example and continue where you left off. What sets CiiNOW apart from other services is more of a back-end structure as the platform can be installed onto existing hardware in its partners’ data centers, instead of those partners having to build massive new centers. This was a large part of the problem with OnLive which recently announced during their buy-out that operating costs where around $5 million a month.

Gamepads are also completely compatible with the service and any that you can use with a PC, or on your Android tablet, can be used with CiiNOW as well. It also has some features similar to that of OnLive including the ability to spectate other people playing any of the games or you can join right into a game already under way.

As of right now there is no official CiiNOW application on the Google Play store and you have to send a request to gain access to the service (basically in closed beta) but a full public roll out shouldn’t be too far in the future.
